Summer’s finally here and that means more time outside in the sun catching rays, but while you’re out having fun remember to use sunscreen. People with darker skin are less likely to develop skin cancer, but it is still possible and when it does happen it’s more deadly. Look for a sunscreen that is at least SPF 15 that is broad spectrum, protecting you from both UVA and UVB rays. Apply the sunscreen liberally about 20 minutes before you go outside and don’t forget your face, neck, and hands. Be sure to reapply after a couple of hours or if you’ve been swimming. Take care of your skin. You’ll be glad you did.
