With fall approaching, and the changes in weather, changes also need to be made with your skin care routine. Skin requires more moisture in the cooler months, and tends to get drier much faster than in the summer. Don’t fret we have the perfect solution. Here are our top five skin care tips for fall.
1. Moisturize
As the season changes, it is imperative to double up on moisturizers. You might have been able to get away with a light lotion during the summer, but for fall and winter, a heavier moisturizer or cream is much better to combat dry skin. TGIN’s shea butter is perfect for keeping the skin moisturized, and comes in several different refreshing scents.
2. Stay hydrated
Hydration is a must in any season, but it’s especially important in the colder seasons when it comes to skin because water assists in keeping skin moisturized. Tell tale signs of dehydration are lines in the forehead and overall dry skin. Drink plenty of water this season, to ensure your skin is nourished from the inside out.
3. Exfoliate
You ever wonder why a baby’s skin is always so soft and radiant? It’s because their skin sheds and renews at a very rapid pace. As we age, it takes longer for skin to naturally shed, which can give skin a duller, less vibrant appearance. Exfoliating skin on a regular basis gets rid of dry, dead skin. We recommend trying brown sugar scrubs, which can be made from scratch with a little brown sugar, honey and olive oil, or purchased online or at various skincare retailers. Not only is it quick and easy, it also smells amazing and leaves skin buttery soft.
4. Over night conditioning
Conditioning is not just reserved for hair. You can also deep condition your skin as well. Showering or bathing with sulfate free soaps and body wash are imperative to keeping skin moisturized. TGIN’s soaps are enriched with olive oil as well as shea butter and are great for cleansing, without over drying the skin. Once your skin is clean and dry, you can apply TGIN’s shea butter all over the skin, with extra attention to drier areas, hands and feet. Hands and feet tend to get drier in the fall and winter so this treatment works especially well at keeping them moisturized. Once you have paid extra attention to your hands and feet apply mittens, or gloves to your hands and clean socks on your feet. When you remove them in the morning your hands and feet will feel silky smooth.
5. Moisture pack
Cooler weather is no excuse to stay cooped up in doors all day. There are plenty of activities to do in the fall, and you should enjoy them. When your are out for long periods of the day, lotions tend to wear off, and skin begins to get dry. Keep a travel sized lotion, and lip balm at all times, to keep your skin moisturized throughout the day. Try Tgin’s mini shea butter and Argan Repleninshing Hair & Body Serum. This allows you to avoid the dreaded chapped lip and dry hands syndrome that plagues us in autumn.
Now go drink a glass of water, exfoliate, cleanse, and moisturize that skin until it’s baby soft!
