I was 36 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. I discovered the lump in my breast while showering. Initially, I thought the lump was hormonal related and would go away, but it never did. Thankfully, my best friend from law school made me go to the doctor to get checked out. The rest is history.
Today, I am cancer free. Although I feel blessed to be able to tell my story, I know that there are women currently battling this disease who do not have the same access to quality healthcare as I did. For this reason, I created the tgin Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to provide underprivileged women with breast cancer support services, to combat these disparities.
This month, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, we will be kicking off our #pinkambassador campaign and featuring stories from survivors on our Instagram page (@tginatural), highlighting the fact that cancer does not discriminate based on age, race, or socio-economic class.
Finally, for the second year in a row, you can purchase our limited edition pink Green Tea Super Moist Leave in Conditioner at Target, Sally Beauty, and online at www.thankgoditsnatural.com. A portion of the sales from all products will go towards breast cancer research.
So here’s to October. This month is for all the survivors, breast cancer or otherwise!
